The Mondego Greenway is an extension of the Dão Greenway, spanning the municipalities of Santa Comba Dão, Mortágua, Penacova, and Vila Nova de Poiares.
Inaugurated in July 2024, this 46.7 km cycle path – managed by the Coimbra Region Intermunicipal Community (CIM) – runs through the districts of Viseu and Coimbra. Plans are in place to extend it to Figueira da Foz, thereby integrating it into the Atlantic Coast Route (EuroVelo 1) of the European “EuroVelo” cycle network.
The Mondego Greenway allows cyclists to travel along the banks of the Mondego River and enjoy local points of interest – such as the *Livraria do Mondego* and the Aguieira Dam – while also following a section of National Road 2 (EN2).
