Concept design for a tourism development in the Algarve.
Integrated into the Pine Valley Resort, the Pine Valley Apartments project comprises a total of 137 tourist apartments – distributed as 24 studios (T0), 78 one-bedroom units (T1), and 35 two-bedroom units (T2) -along with various leisure areas and restaurants.
The landscape architecture proposal sought to create a setting that harmoniously integrates and frames the buildings, fostering a pleasant living environment while enhancing both landscape and functional quality. The result is a dynamic space connected by a network of primary and secondary paths and access routes. Social areas were designed to evoke traditional town squares, accommodating swimming pools, children’s playgrounds, and spaces for leisure and relaxation.
The design leverages the surrounding area and existing trees, while also proposing the planting of local species – such as stone pine, carob, and olive trees – complemented by lawns that serve as the setting for social and leisure activities.
